Orthopaedic spine surgeon Dr. Daniel Choi, owner of Spine Medicine & Surgery of Long Island, recently took part in one of the headline sessions at the Becker’s Healthcare 22nd Annual Spine, Orthopedic & Pain Management-Driven ASC Conference in Chicago — a premier event for ambulatory surgery center (ASC) professionals.
He joined a keynote panel for “The Time to Save American Healthcare is Now: Strategies to Restore Physician Autonomy and the Free Market in Healthcare,” moderated by Becker’s Healthcare founder Scott Becker. Choi was joined by his Doctors Lounge podcast co-founders: neurosurgeon Anthony DiGiorgio, DO, MHA; cardiologist Anish Koka, MD; and healthcare entrepreneur Dutch Rojas. Together, they shared their vision for restoring physician-led care in the U.S. healthcare system.
This year’s ASC conference brought together spine surgeons, orthopaedic specialists, and healthcare executives from across the country. The event featured thought-provoking panels and keynote appearances from speakers including Doc Rivers and Lance Armstrong. The physician autonomy panel was widely recognized as a highlight of the program.
Choi’s participation underscores his role as a leading orthopaedic spine surgeon advocating for physician independence, lower administrative burden, and healthcare reform that prioritizes patient care and clinical autonomy.
